Second Catalyzer medium light spinning rod replacement tip broke. After removing a fish (not lifted with rod) my wife went back to cast and noticed the tip was broken again. Rod was purchased during the spring, first rod tip broke within the warranty period and was promptly replaced. Not going to try and ask for another replacement, I'm sure it will be denied being outside of the 90-day window. Not impressed with this series, I guess you get what you pay for as these are cheap and the material seems brittle. I'll put a replacement tip on and trade-in the rod (and maybe the other two Catalyzer's) during Bass Pro/Cabelas spring fishing event or give them away.
I own 6 catalyzers, and 2 Cobb signature series rods. High praise for performance. But on my latest catalyzer spinning rod ordered , it broke on the first outing. We'll see how warranty process treats me
Finally a cranking stick that you can feel everything with and it doesn’t wear me out!
Catalyzer Series Rod
Well, I purchased the 3 for $100 end of December. One of each casting models. Did not get a chance to fish them til bass opener end of May. The 7'3" MHFC broke on a 10" smallie 2 weeks ago. As I reeled it in It had this black thing sticking out of its face. The last 8 inches of rod. Never felt it. I don't expect Ark to replace it since the 90 day warranty is from sale date. I didn't get to use it 3 months. Was going to inquire anyway but the warranty page keeps locking up. Tired of trying. Gonna retip and make a heavy action out of it. The other 2 rods have been great. I'm not used to such light weight rods but liking it.
