I have a G3 paired with a Grinder. A great crankbait rod. But since I was in south Georgia there's too much vegetation to crank. So I found out real quick this also makes a great combo for jerkbaits and spooks. But my favorite thing about a G3 is how far it throws weightless flukes. The only thing I would change, and this is just 1st world problems, I'd move the handles farther apart. Once you're fishing for a while you don't notice it. But when you switch reels and come back to this one, you really notice it.
I had purchased 2 (BOGO) end of December and waited nearly 5 months to fish them due to weather and season opening end of May. As a new baitcast reel user (started last year at 69 years old) I couldn't be happier. While I don't have much to compare to, these reels make it kinda easy. Love the line window feature. Currently debating what to add to my arsenal next. Tight lines everyone.
Value reel. Casts a mile but makes the most awful screeching sound I’ve ever heard. I have a feeling something didn’t get any oil.
Awesome reel.
The reel itself is great but the foam handles kind of suck.
