Casting rod broke

My casting rod broke within a dozen cast. Never caught a fish off it. I’ve put in a replacement with failure from Ark to follow up. Spinning rod seems to be ok but scared to really test the quality without knowing it can be replaced or without having a backup for failure. Maybe my opinion with change once I atleast get a follow up for replacement.
