Amazing reel

It’s a workhorse

Best reel I have ever put my hands on!

This reel is smooth as silk and casts a mile. I love the 3 settings that are available. It makes for quick and easy adjustments. The finish and design is sharp. This reel is going change the game.

Blew way past my expectations

I was expecting a decent quality reel based on the components. what I got was an amazingly solid and competitive piece of fishing gear. This was the G5, the middle child. I tried to give it a hard time with 6lb line and a 1/16oz jig. but with a few setting adjustments it fired my lure off just as far as my ultralight spinning combo. then I re-spooled it with 12lb Fluorocarbon tied to a Z-Series 63 5/8oz lipless. changed the internal setting to the II and let it fly. smooth cast and retrieve. then I switched the internal setting to III, tied on a 1/2oz spinner bait. tried casting into the wind. after a couple adjustments to the external brakes, it reliably put the bait where I needed it to be with no overruns or flare ups. all three tests were on the same rod. TS69MRC – One Eyed Jack from the Tharp series. I think I will be buying a gravity in the future.
